José Roberto Batochio

 

The criminal lawyer José Roberto Batochio graduated from the Law School of the Mackenzie Presbyterian University in 1967. He obtained a Master’s degree in Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure from the University of São Paulo (USP) in 1974.

An accomplished lawyer, he was the president of the São Paulo Lawyers Association from 1985 to 1986 and of the Brazilian Bar Association in São Paulo. From 1993 to 1995, he was the national president ofhttps://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conselho_Federal_da_OAB the Federal Council of the Brazilian Bar Association, of which he is currently an honorary and lifetime member. He is a member of the Interamerican Bar Association.

He was elected a congressman by the PDT party and was in office from 1998 to 2002.

After the PDT party convention on June 14, 2014, he was chosen to run for vice-governor of the State of São Paulo on the slate of Paulo Skaf, the PMDB party candidate to the government of São Paulo for the 2014 elections.
